Favorite Wedding Cake Summer 2008

This is definitely my favorite cake from my summer '08 weddings. Bella Rosa Cakes in Oklahoma City does a phenomenal job every time. I always recommend them to my brides, and anyone who is having a special occasion.
The bride wanted her cake to be decorated with her dress as the inpiration (see below) and it was executed beautifully.
The windows at the United Methodist church downtown OKC provided a stunning pictoral backdrop, as well.

Candy Shower

As you have probably noticed we like the candy bar idea. We decided to use this as the theme for a shower for Olivia and baby Benjamin last weekend.

With some colorful candies, bright, patchwork tablecloth, and our fabulous friends from Hobby Lobby this is the table we created. Guests could fill up their own candy bag with their own candy mix to eat at the shower or take home for later.

Glass bottled pops and flavored water from Target added to the sugar high, as well.

Bedtime Story Party

I love this idea. I am starting an all out campaign for Mia to choose this theme for her 4th birthday instead of the ever-popular-but-oh-so-predictable-Princess Party. I'm not holding my breath

A Sonnet

Oh Preston Bailey, how do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee for turning a cake stand into a centerpiece:For making a tartlett tin a piece of art:For using grass on a table, oh how I love me some grass:
And I especially love thee for these adorable chairs:
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after you plan a fabulous party just for me.

This is my new favorite shower idea. Especially for those Sunday afternoon showers right after a big lunch. No one really feels like eating a lot of food, but candy, well, everyone can make an exception for candy. It's fun, you don't have to eat a lot but can just get a little taste of something sweet. And the colors are beautiful.
Buffets - they aren't just for the Golden Corral anymore.

It's a potted plant, it's a centerpiece, it's a...

dessert!

Who wouldn't want these adorable things served at their next birthday party? In fact, why don't you just forget you ever saw these babies so I can keep this idea all for myself.
